In Their Own Words: Students Remember the Holocaust – “What can we learn from studying the Holocaust?” Sponsored by Pauline Loeb Harf and Leo S. Harf in honor of Wilma Landman Loeb (Holocaust Survivor).
Contest requirements: 1. Essay should be a minimum of 500 words written in a five paragraph expository form intended for a broad audience of community members; 2. Essay must be typed, double-spaced, using legible size 12 font; 3. A separate cover page is required and must include the student’s name, grade level, the school’s name address, the sponsoring teacher’s signature, and the title of the essay. Only one essay per student may be submitted – must be an Idaho student in either seventh or eighth grade.
Essays will be evaluated on the writer’s understanding, appreciation and application of the principles in the writing prompt, as well as usage and mechanics. Entries must be received at the Center on or before March 15, 2015.
