    Holocaust Remembance Week

    April 20, 2020 @ 8:00 am - April 25, 2020 @ 9:00 pm

For the past 37 years, Idaho has conducted a State Observance of Holocaust Remembrance. This year, in respecting all recommendations for social distancing, the 2020 Idaho commemoration was canceled. While the opportunity to physically stand together is not possible, the opportunity to come together on a digital platform has enabled the Center to collaborate with other organizations to think beyond our own in-town and in-state observances to unite with others in the commitment to “Never Forget” and “Never Again.”

The need for Holocaust Remembrance and Holocaust Education has not waned during this time of isolation.

Holocaust Remembrance Week offers a variety of virtual live and recorded events, as well as the launch of educational e-books, podcasts and articles during the week of Yom HaShoah (Monday, April 20th to Friday, April 24th). The goal of this program is to provide teachers, students, and parents new tools to support remembrance and awareness of the Holocaust as we recognize the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Holocaust Remembrance Week is brought to you by the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center in Milwaukee, WI, the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation, and the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights.
