By engaging in the shared stories, art, movement activities, journal drawing, and writing and language stimulation, children in the program will learn the vocabulary word “upstander” and why it is important in social justice. Through active participation in the literature read to them – and in doing hands-on activities – children will experience how to be an upstander. Each child will receive a book at the end of the session to take home for his/her “upstander” library.
