Upstander C.A.R.E. Scholarship Program

CARE: Compassion, Acceptance, Respect, and Empathy

The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights welcomes applications for its 2025 Upstander CARE Scholarships. Each year, graduating Idaho high school students will be awarded with cash scholarships of up to $3,000 for taking action to create positive change in their communities. These individuals will be honored as upstanders – those who recognize a wrong and take action to make it right.

While being an upstander is a shared responsibility, each winner’s achievements will display a remarkable choice to combat intolerance, prejudice, and injustice and contribute to reshaping the world. Emphasis will be given to accomplishments that exhibit sustainable acts of compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy toward others.

The Wassmuth Center strives to encourage youth to become advocates for change. Completed applications are due by April 1, 2025.

The family of Arthur and Neli Zaltzman have generously funded the Upstander C.A.R.E. Scholarships in memory of their parents.
