Wassmuth Youth Leadership Program
Who is this program for?
Rising ninth through twelfth-grade students in the Treasure Valley are invited to apply for the Wassmuth Youth Leadership Program—a unique opportunity to grow as leaders while making a positive impact in their communities.
Throughout the program, youth will deepen their understanding of human rights issues, hear directly from inspiring guest speakers, and work together on collaborative projects that foster inclusion and justice. Participants not only learn about leadership, but also practice it—gaining the tools, confidence, and networks to stand up for human dignity in their schools and beyond.
Whether you are passionate about building community, curious to learn more about human rights, or eager to connect with other young leaders, the Wassmuth Youth Leadership Program offers a meaningful path to grow, engage, and lead.

Our program goals:
- Foster an inclusive and joyful learning community for youth to connect with each other and deepen their understanding of human rights issues through texts, guest speakers, conversations, and collaborative projects
- Co-create opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills
- Engage youth in the work of the Wassmuth Human Rights Center through meaningful opportunities
Applications for the 2026-27 school year will open on February 1, 2026.
